About Amanda Thompson

With over 10 years of experience in higher education, I am a dedicated and resourceful professional who leads the housing department's efforts in facility management, occupancy management, training and development, and communication at Valdosta State University. I supervise three full-time staff members and manage an operational budget, while ensuring the quality and readiness of over beds and eight residence halls. I am passionate about transforming lives through education and creating inclusive and supportive environments for students and staff. I have revamped the housing processes, restructured the staff organizational charts, and implemented new initiatives for housing contracts, selection, and operations. I have also received multiple awards for my outstanding work, leadership, and contribution to student belonging and inclusion. I am always eager to learn, collaborate, and innovate in the professional world - helping others do their best work.
