About Amanda Tieber
Amanda has supported a number of research projects related to online voting as a Research Associate, including work examining how to enable secure legislative voting in Canada’s Parliament, First Nations experiences with online voting, and the development of technical standards to provide a regulatory framework for online voting use at the municipal level in Canada. Throughout this work, Amanda gained experience articulating and disseminating technical information to both expert and non-expert audiences. She demonstrated her ability to develop and maintain databases, conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses, and succinctly summarize research findings. In one project, for example, Amanda compiled an environmental scan of legislative and regulatory electronic voting developments in other jurisdictions. In another, Amanda’s work was used to inform testimony to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs. Finally, Amanda has effectively managed and led a municipal stakeholder engagement campaign for online voting standards, and served as a member of the expert drafting team.
