About Amanda Wells

Over the last 30 years of working within social care I have held a variety of managerial positions within the private sector in residential & domiciliary care settings and for the last 10 years I have been employed within Warwickshire County Council in a variety of roles having responsibility for advising and facilitating customer engagement, consultation and Co-production with customers, carers and other key stakeholders including health, education and the voluntary sector. I have extensive skills, expertise and experience of successfully embedding Co-production activity in all commissioning processes. Through my daily responsibilities I manage and implement a broad spectrum of projects defined to meet these expectations with a passion and enthusiasm to strengthen the customer’s voice in all planning and delivering of personalised services. I adopt a strengths based approach of ensuring that customers & carers of social care and health care are at the heart of everything we do, being seen and recognised as ‘experts by experience’. I have been involved in and led on a number of change projects involving customers, examples include; • Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) – embedding co-production within the local SEND Project Board and across 11 work streams as required by the Children and Families Act 2014; • Development of All Age Autism Strategy – co-produced local Strategy to meet the requirements of the Autism Act 2009: • Development and delivery of the Warwickshire Safe Places Scheme: • Development of Peer Review Programme (‘Experts by experience’) – Quality Assurance of contracted services by customers which feeds into contract monitoring processes by informing on the quality and safety of services from a customer perspective; • Transformation Assembly – ensuring customers had an opportunity to shape and influence the redesign of Adult Social Care services as part of a major transformation change programme.
