About Amandine Codou

I received my PhD – European Doctorate label, in Polymer Physic and Chemistry from the Laboratory of Condensed Matter Physics (LPMC), University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis, France in Dec. During my PhD, I obtained a secondment to Avantium Chemicals (Amsterdam - NL) to work on the poly(ethylene 2,5-furandicarboxylate). My main activities were the understanding of physical transitions in polyesters (glass transition, physical aging, and crystallization) and polysaccharides (solid-solid transition in cellulose) as well as the preparation of biobased thermoplastics and thermosets composites. I joined the Bioproducts Discovery and Development Centre (BDDC), University of Guelph, Canada from May 2016 to May 2019 as a Postdoctoral Fellow. I was then involved in the preparation of blends and biocarbon based composites biobased and/or biodegradable for sustainable automotive and packaging applications. In May 2019 I joined TNO as a scientist at the Brightlands Materials Center in the Lightweight Automotive program. I’m now in charge of developing thermo-mechanical recycling technologies for thermoplastic composites.
