About Amani Selim

More than 24 years of extensive management experience in the conceptualization, design, negotiations, planning, implementation, performance management and evaluation of programs funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Egypt and the Middle East region. Programs included: Health and Population, institutional strengthening and establishment of research units, managing major population and health research and surveys, design of health, population, macroeconomic and trade reform programs. Actively participated in the development of USAID/Egypt strategic plans for updated in 2004, and in the development of a bridge strategy in 2009. Served as senior performance management and evaluation expert in USAID/Egypt and provided related training and technical assistance to the Yemen, Lebanon and Morocco missions. Responsibilities included: developing mission performance management plans and their annual updates, managing the annual preparation and submission of operational and performance plans and reports, building the capacity of USAID/Egypt staff in performance management and evaluation through providing one-day to one-week training sessions, improving the quality of project level performance monitoring plans and providing assistance to regional missions and to PPL/LER in the area of performance management and evaluation. Guided technical teams in complying with Agency performance monitoring and activity management guidance and assisted teams in managing the process and responding to performance audits. Developed and managed a large number of performance and impact evaluations in all sectors supported by USAID in Egypt and USAID Global Health Bureau, Office of Population and Reproductive Health.
