About Amar Singh

Hey, I'm Amar and I’m a Toronto native who ventured from the United States' east coast to its west coast, then back again, before coming north. I grew up with a passion for sports and married that with a love for marketing. Through my experiences, I found ways my skills could go further and help even more people! Here are a few of my defining moments thus far: 2015: I joined the University of California, Berkeley Athletic Department. There, I was part of a team that executed marketing and communications campaigns for the Men’s Basketball program that saw a 66% increase in ticket sales YOY! 2016 – 2017: I headed back east for an opportunity with the University of Hartford’s Athletic Department’s new look Marketing and Corporate Relations team. During my time there, we set university attendance records in Men’s Basketball, with 2,600 fans, and in Men’s Soccer, with 1,600 fans, through marketing and collaboration efforts with external partners and internal stakeholders. 2018 – 2019: COMING HOME! On my return to Toronto, I teamed up with IGNITE, the student union representing the students of Humber College and the University of Guelph-Humber. There, I redeveloped the organization’s marketing efforts, increasing engagement by 214%. I also developed a corporate partnerships and sponsorships program with the potential to generate in revenue. 2020: Like many others, I was a causality of the COVID-19 economy as IGNITE went through restructuring. Instead of staying down, I looked at ways to enhance my photography skills. 2021: I joined JA of Central Ontario, working on marketing and communications campaigns to spread the organization’s messaging on financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurial skillset for youth to the newsletter subscribers and followers on social media. 2021 – 2025: I received the call that took me back into the world of sports, this time working at a marketing agency, SDI. With SDI, I’ve had built/managed budgets, lead creative/production internal collaboration, oversee client communication, coach Account staff to bring experiences to life, leading to programs that have resulted in on-site engagements, internal promotions of junior staff, and happy clients.
