About Amare Ayalew

I am Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) professional, I have had the pleasure of working in the development and sector with the primary aim of designing M&E and data management systems to improve project data collection, analysis and learning, reporting, and data visualization to support decision making. My educational background and 15 years of professional work experience with different thematic areas under health and other thematic areas have enabled me to attain extensive skills and experiences in the field of M&E. I have earned Masters in Public Health (Epidemiology and Biostatistics) and Masters of Science (MSC) in Health Informatics while my Bachelor of Science (BSc) was in Statistics. Professionally, I have led and supported health information systems across a variety of processes for International NGO, Local NGO and Government organizations. As you can see from my resume, I have led and supported to: Provide programmatic guidance and technical assistance to strengthen data use, data quality and use across all levels in the health system. Design M&E plan and framework with project indicators at every level Develop data collection, analysis and reporting tools and databases Lead trainings for internal, partner and government staff on data utilization, data capturing and analysis, routine data quality assessment (RDQA), data quality audit and M&E Lead and manage operation research, baseline assessments and end line evaluations Facilitate the use of DHIS2 information system for data analysis, visualization, and decision making. Develop and implement functional monitoring, evaluation and Learning system. I have extensive skills and knowledge using software including DHIS2, STATA, SPSS, Epi Info, CSPRO, ODK, COMMECARE. I also contribute to organizational knowledge management by effectively capturing data, analysis of the data, documenting and sharing lessons, success stories and best practices, particularly in demonstrating attribution of projects to beneficiaries.
