About Amari Polk

With a rapidly growing library of books, a smorgasbord of anime recommendations, and a penchant for staying up to date on the newest video games, my greatest joy is equipping myself and others with the knowledge needed to discover new possibilities and move forward— a feature that follows me from role to role. I have an affinity for learning new things — skills, software, perspectives, practically applying them, and disseminating that knowledge to others in digestible nuggets. Understandably, I took well to working as a writing tutor at Bowdoin’s Baldwin Center for Learning and Teaching where I exercised my strong mentoring and communication skills. I was also able to blend my itch to learn with my drive to help in my previous role as a Technical Support Representative at Bowdoin’s IT Center and a leader of a Digital Literacy Volunteer group. I’ve seen how much of a perfect match tech has been for me. As a Psychology major and Chinese minor, I am looking for a role in technology such as IT that would allow me to learn from, assist, collaborate, inform, and equip others with knowledge in the tech industry. I’d love to hear from you! If you’d like to reach out to discuss tech, reading, writing, anime, or games, please do!
