About Amaryllis Phillips

Growing up my siblings and I had one rule, to always be the best you can be at whatever you choose to do. That is exactly what I strive for. Progress is never a straight line, but I am always willing to walk, even run, the zigzag line if it means I have learned along the way. Being put into violin lessons at the age of two, I know a lot about that zigzag line. I went from giving screechy dinner shows to leading my high school chamber orchestra, to bowing on stage after my third performance at Carnegie Hall, NYC and bowing again after performing at The Sydney Opera House, Sydney, Australia. These eighteen years of music have shown me passion, given me a sense of leadership, and opened doors for different ways of connecting and working with others. As an athlete, progress defines you. I have been through countless sports teams throughout my life, but soccer will always share the passion I have for music. From playing club soccer to winning a university-level championship, that zigzag line of progress has taught me to be disciplined, driven, and determined to be better than I was yesterday.
