About Amber Baker

As an expert in curriculum design, I drive the development of engaging lessons and instructional activities that are challenging yet rewarding for students, helping them achieve their full potential. Over 20+ years, I have created curriculum, instructor guides, experiential activities, and videos in English Language Arts (ELA), science, math, and social studies. Leveraging that experience, I excel at new product innovation and can lead a team of talented curriculum writers to create curriculum and content that engages students and guides them to learn and grow. MY VALUE PROPOSITION At Inquisicorp the leadership recognized my excellent work and allowed me to try innovative tactics while expanding the scope of my position. I took the lead whenever the company needed a new product. As the product developer, I brought the owner’s vision to life, adjusted the solution based on her feedback, and led the content generation process. Thanks to my experience innovating two grammar programs, NGSS-aligned science programs, math videos, science experiments, and more, I became well-versed in all the steps involved with product development from conceptualization through market entry. When kids are having fun, they learn more readily, so I teach other curriculum designers to envision how a lesson plays out from both a student’s and an instructor’s perspective. That helps streamline a lesson, keep it fun, and focus on the most meaningful activities. WHAT DRIVES ME Every child is unique and learns in their own way, making “one size fits all” education ineffective. A tireless advocate for students with special needs, I instill in curriculum designers the need to empower instructors to modify lessons easily. MY KEY STRENGTHS Curriculum planning, design, and editing, leveraging knowledge of reasonable expectations for different ages. Print production, including graphic design in Adobe Creative Suite. Project management: besides developing new products, I have written a book, designed book covers, and compiled hands-on instructional project kits. I can manage many moving parts. MY LEADERSHIP STYLE I strive to maintain excellent working relationships with all my team members. I am a compassionate listener, so people willingly come to me to discuss challenges and work with me to solve problems. My communication style is straightforward, and I don’t hesitate to point out inefficiencies or confront issues head-on. My team members trust me, and we collaborate to achieve alignment and spearhead positive change.
