Passionate about forming connections and leading. This is why I thrive to be a teacher. In every job I've had, I would go out of my way to ensure that all of my coworkers or employees understood their roles. It was very satisfying to see the "lightbulb" go off in other's heads when I finally explain something to them that they were struggling with for a while. I have two step-brothers that both have ASD. I have always had such a connection to them because I have always been good at putting myself in other's shoes. I am extremely patient with them and it has resulted in me being able to get a lot of work done with them and I am very proud of that. They have given me plenty of hands-on experience with children with special needs. I am also a full time substitute for high school. It has given me an abundance of hands on experience. I am grateful to be able to work with students everyday so I can constantly learn and grow into a teacher that I would be proud of.
