Infectious disease research epidemiologist, optimist, problem-solver, vaccine-nerd, adventurer & mixed-methods scientist contributing to global public health. More than 20 years of public health experience working in academic, non-profit, private, and government public health programs. PhD in Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Department of International Health, Global Disease Epidemiology and Control, focused on vaccine preventable disease epidemiology, school immunization mandates, and policy changes, implementation, and enforcement in the US and globally. 15 years experience in design and conduct of human subjects vaccine clinical trials with industry, academic and government sponsorship. More than a decade experience teaching vaccine and infectious disease topics to diverse student and professional audiences. As faculty at Johns Hopkins, developed curriculum and taught in person, online, MOOC, and hybrid courses. Additional experience with Merck & Co. and GlaxoSmithKline supporting US and International vaccine policy development, routine childhood programs, adult vaccines across the lifespan, and emerging and pandemic vaccine planning. Specific training and focus on vaccine safety, vaccine hesitancy, parental decision making, ethics, clinical trials, biostatistics, science communication, and infectious disease epidemiology with an emphasis on epidemiological methods, policy, and analysis. More recently, leading in public health government services and solutions for Maximus Public Health and Center for Health Innovation, with a focus on public health workforce development and training, routine and pandemic vaccine management and information systems, developing use cases for public health contact centers providing scalable, responsive, and skilled agents communicating directly with public on public health and emergency health issues. Responsible for new partnership and proposal development, health communications, innovative health solutions, digital health, organizational development, business development, and strategic thinking.
