About Amber Borucki

As an associate professor at Stanford Children's Health | Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford, I apply my expertise in pain management to improve the quality of life for children with acute and chronic pain conditions. I have over 10 years of experience in pediatric anesthesia and pain services, including 5.5 years as the director of the Pediatric Anesthesia Pain Services at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals. While at UCSF, I chartered and co-led the Transbay Pediatric Pain Medicine Committee made up of a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, nurses, pharmacists, and psychologists who collaborated on hospital system-wide practices to improve pediatric pain care. I have completed fellowships in pediatric anesthesia and pain management at Boston Children's Hospital, Brigham/Beth Israel, and I hold a Doctor of Medicine degree from Rush Medical College of Rush University Medical Center. I am the current secretary and treasurer of the Society for Pediatric Pain Medicine and previously served as a board member for 4 years. I have published several peer-reviewed articles on topics such as pediatric chronic pain, electronic medical record optimization, and pediatric pain interventions. My core competencies include clinical excellence, research innovation, teaching and mentoring, and patient and family-centered care. My mission is to advance the field of pediatric pain medicine through evidence-based practice, education, and advocacy.
