Amber Champion is an Enterprise Risk Manager for Technology at FanDuel, where she leads enterprise-wide risk assessments and drives a proactive risk culture across the technology landscape. Her work focuses on aligning risk practices with business strategy, enabling informed decision-making, and safeguarding critical operations through thoughtful governance and oversight.Prior to joining FanDuel, Amber spent several years at Ernst & Young (EY) in the Technology Assurance practice, progressing from intern to Senior Consultant. During her tenure, she supported clients across industries with IT financial statement audits and compliance initiatives, including SOX readiness, IT general controls (ITGC) testing, and the preparation of SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports.Leveraging her strong foundation in accounting, Amber advised clients on IT compliance, identified gaps in business processes and technology controls, and delivered actionable recommendations to mitigate risk and enhance control environments. She effectively managed large-scale audit projects by developing timelines, allocating resources, and keeping executive stakeholders informed. As the central point of contact, she led internal coordination efforts and external client communications, while also mentoring junior professionals and reviewing audit documentation to ensure quality and consistency.Amber was also selected to serve in an appointed advisory capacity at EY, where she facilitated strategic discussions with firm leadership and championed initiatives to support the organization’s mission and values.
