About Amber Curran

I am an experienced elementary school teacher with 8+ years of teaching in grades 2-4. I bring a strong foundation in evidence-based literacy instruction, particularly for schools dedicated to the Science of Reading (SOR). My training in the Riggs program equips me with expertise in teaching graphemes and phonograms, and I am well-versed in a variety of curricula, including Wonders, Reach for Reading, Writing Highway, GO Math, and Everyday Math. Additionally, I have extensive experience with educational platforms such as iReady, Edmentum/Exact Path, Achieve Smarty Ants, and AR/STAR. Beyond teaching, I bring 25+ years of diverse professional experience that enhances my ability to connect with students, families, and colleagues. My background includes: • 15 years with the Department of Emergency Management for the City and County of San Francisco. • Customer relations, collections/recovery, and risk management roles at Providian Financial Corp.(now WaMu). • Market and health research projects with various institutions. • Youth coaching and mentoring through multiple organizations. • Project management and educational research with Partners in School Innovation. • Leadership in elected positions on various boards. If granted an interview, I would be delighted to share how my broad expertise and passion for education can make a meaningful impact on your team.
