About Amber Dillman

Hello! I am a student at RIT majoring in Business Administration - Management, minoring in Communication, and am expecting to graduate in May of 2019. During my time at RIT, I have realized that I have an interest in three areas: Operations Management, Project Management, and Supply Chain Management. I am experienced in managing around 25 people from my previous job as an Assistant Manager at Cinemark Movies 10 in Rochester, New York. At the age of 19, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to become a manager, but sadly the company decided to close the building down. However, during my time at Movies 10, being a manager taught me a lot about daily operations, customer service, conflict resolution, time management, work dynamics, and much more. My favorite part about my time as an Assistant Manager was getting to connect with the staff and our loyal customers. I also enjoyed getting to train new hires, as well as cross-training employees and answering any questions they had. Initially, I saw how afraid new hires were of the job and I was fortunate to observe their positive development throughout their time there. As a Management major, I believe that I have the leadership skills necessary for a career in this field. I am a very organized person and will put all of my energy into any task that I am given. I am a hardworking and dedicated individual who communicates effectively through both interpersonal as well as written communication and express when further clarification is necessary for my understanding. I am open-minded and receptive to new ideas, as I recognize that this allows for more efficient business processes. In addition, I work well in team settings, as I understand that this is very important in the business world.
