With over ten years of professional experience in urban farming, gardening, and permaculture design, I am now teaching Career Technical Education (CTE) Sustainable Agriculture with Fresno Unified School District, working with middle and high school level students to understand the importance of the preservation and restoration of our environment and resources through real life, hands-on projects and lessons. My previous accomplishments and experiences that I bring to the classroom include the construction, development, and management of Yosemite Village Community Garden and Farm- a Transform Fresno grant-funded project and Fresno’s largest community garden and farm incubator program located in West Fresno; spearheading the creation of a Food Policy Council for Fresno; overseeing the work of multiple California Climate Action Corps Fellows; and managing over 12.5 combined acres of community gardens throughout the city of Fresno.
