About Amber Khalid

I have a wonderful experience of working as a diabetes dietitian with Diabetes Education Program (a member of WellFort Community Health Services) at their Satellite location Four Corners Health Centre in Malton. My client population is mostly South Asian in addition to other clients from Italian, Asian and African American descent. I devotedly partnered with my client in improved and better management of their chronic condition, I believe in empowerment and self management so provide them with resources, tools, knowledge and education so they are able to self-manage themselves and achieve SMART goals which we establish as a team towards our main objective of staying healthy with diabetes. Within the program I have a great opportunity in liaising with heath care team mostly RN, MD, Chiropodist and social worker within organization and other health care professional outside of organization which includes but not limited to family Doctors and endocrinologist. As a part of my professional development and aiming to enhance my skills and knowledge in quality improvement I have completed Yellow belt training as a part of staff development. For me a successful career means challenges, delivering results and winning. I want to become one of those who build deep skills and a broad business perspective. Have an obsession with making a difference and have the ability to meet challenges in a mature, creative and individual way.
