About Amber Kumar

As a Senior consultant at EY, I work with the Ministry of Animal and Husbandry Department under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission, a national program to improve the genetic quality and productivity of indigenous cattle breeds. I apply my analytical skills and development management knowledge to support the implementation and monitoring of various schemes and initiatives under the mission, such as breeding, health, fodder, and infrastructure development. Previously, I was an Executive Officer at COMFED (SUDHA), a leading dairy cooperative in Bihar, where I was in charge of purchasing raw materials, equipment, and services for the organization. I managed a team of 20 staff and handled multiple tenders, contracts, and negotiations with vendors and suppliers, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with policies and regulations. I also contributed to the strategic planning, leadership, and project management of the organization, overseeing the execution of several large-scale and complex projects, such as the expansion of the processing and distribution network, the automation of the milk collection system, and the adoption of green energy solutions. I have a postgraduate degree in Development Management from Development Management Institute, Patna, and a certificate course in Community Based Microfinance from St. Francis Xavier University, Canada. I am passionate about using my skills and expertise to create positive social and economic impact for the rural and marginalized communities, especially in the areas of agriculture, livestock, and dairy development. I am always eager to learn new things, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and take on new challenges in my professional journey.
