About Amber Lipton

Amber Lipton was a graduate student at Western Illinois University pursuing a Masters Degree in Accounting, she graduated in December 2016. Amber graduated from Western in December 2015 Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting with a minor in Finance. Amber is an Audit Intern for Bohnsack & Frommelt, LLP. She performs interim testing for payroll, disbursements, and receipts for the the firm's governmental clients. She has prepared journal entries, balance sheets, and income statements for a client in anticipation of their upcoming audit. She has also assisted in two Illinois Gaming Board audits for a local casino. Amber was a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Department of Accounting and Finance while completing her graduate studies. She tutored undergraduate students in accounting and finance. She also assisted professors by grading classwork, proctoring exams, and helping them complete other projects. During her time at Western, Amber was an active part of the campus community. Amber is passionate about giving back to the community around her, so she was the Director of Volunteer Services for two organizations on campus, SCIMA (the Student Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants) and Beta Alpha Psi (and honors fraternity for students in Accounting, Finance, and Information Systems majors). Amber was also the Treasurer of the Swing Dance Club, and was then elected President. For the summers of 2015 and 2016, Amber interned at Triumph Community Bank working on various projects and daily tasks, including updating ATM spreadsheets, database reconfigurations, and researching customer information for internal and external use. Amber is currently looking for an entry-level job at a company where she can grow both personally and professionally while continuing in her efforts to better the community around her.
