About Amber Murphy

I will receive my Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Broadcast and Public Relations and a minor in Sports Administration from the University of Mississippi in December 2015. My prior experiences in an on campus news station and internships with WGNO and FOX8 in New Orleans, as well as my student leadership positions at Ole Miss have prepared me well for a career in sports. I held a sports anchor and reporter position with News Watch99. News Watch99 is a local station run by Ole Miss students with outreach to over people in the surrounding community. At News Watch99 I have had a broad range of duties from editing my own stories to anchoring a live show. I believe my experiences will allow me the flexibility to excel in any tasks that are given to me. I further refined my skills while interning at FOX8 and WGNO in New Orleans. During these internships I attended Editorial Meetings and performed research. I also prepared for presentations by writing scripts and cutting corresponding film. No story was too tough to tackle and no deadline was too quick. I worked extremely hard and I loved having a plan and being organized. I always strive to get better and I look forward to utilizing these skills in the any field. My strong work ethic and time management skills allowed me to successfully balance my schedule while maintaining a 3.2 GPA. I learn from constructive feedback and work well in groups. Additionally, my experience as a student leader of various organizations has prepared me make quick decisions when difficult situations arise. Now, I am currently the executive assistant and player relations coordinator for the Alliance Management group out of St. Louis. I do all their Public relations and marketing.
