About Amber Petersen

Currently pursuing an enthusiastic career in the non-profit sector, I find myself in the rewarding world of fundraising. Sharing my knowledge with those who are passionate about making a difference in our community fuels me daily. As of January 2022, I am working with a variety of energy and engineering sector organizations to help motivate their employees and bring people together to support United Way of the Alberta Capital Region, and all the local programs that UWACR supports. Together, we can #DoLocalGood! As of 2019, I am officially a 2019 NAIT Business Administration - Marketing Diploma graduate! Through this program, I earned my promotional and marketing skills and refined time management, conflict resolution and prioritization skills. Prior to returning to school full time, I enjoyed a rewarding career at Corus Entertainment as a Promotions Assistant and Street Team Coordinator. This position allowed me to learn more about traditional and digital media, foster a love for managing a team, and hone my communication and promotions skills in high visibility situations. I have continued to grow my marketing and promotions skills in a variety of situations, including my current role with CINCO Promotions (ongoing as of 2022). In addition, I have used my marketing knowledge to give back to the community through volunteering with 630 CHED Santas Anonymous, the Ember Awards through Digital Alberta and the JUNOS. In the past, I managed a non-profit haunted house (Bennywise's House of Horrors) to support Edmonton youth in my local community. Volunteering has always been a huge part of my life and I am always working to become a better activist for social justice issues. I am passionate about supporting and empowering others. We are all in this together!
