About Amber Shepherd

I am a senior at the University of Florida studying Health Education and Behavior. I have been a lifeguard for the past three years while studying in undergrad. My most recent job includes interacting with the patrons at Oak Hammock and making sure that they are being safe while swimming in the pool. I am also a brother of the national coed service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega where I have held leadership positions. The most rewarding one was being fellowship co-chair. This job required me to delegate tasks to committees in an effort to work efficiently and effectively. However, my real strength is my ability to time manage. If there is a list of assignments that must be done, I am able to prioritize and make sure they are completed in a timely manner. I may even set reminders to myself to make sure I do not submit an assignment late. I am also an independent worker; however, I do well working in group projects. I am interested in an institution that works well collaborating together, and by doing so, creates the most effective health education programs. In the future I want to become an occupational therapist, and I believe this opportunity can create a wonderful foundation for my future goals.
