About Amber Williamson

Research: I have an intense love for the investigative nature of music history, and as a result,"I don't know" is rarely my final answer. Teaching: If you are in one of my classes you can look forward to being instructed by someone who will tirelessly search for ways to make music courses interesting, relevant, and fun. My sense of humor is off-beat (I could not resist the pun) and I take great joy in being described as a music nerd. Performance: My performance experience ranges from singing in a funk band to playing flute in an opera pit and stops at all points in-between. I’ve similarly helped lead a wide range of ensembles and love developing aspiring performers in the ensembles they enjoy the most. Community: New to Sevierville, TN and I am excited to dive deep into the local performance community. It’s my goal to make connections and develop partnerships that will benefit both the students at Walters State Community College and the arts community of Eastern Tennessee.
