About Amberly Green

I am a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University with a B.S. in Astronomy and Astrophysics and a minor in Biology from Florida Institute of Technology. In addition to taking classes such as Astrophysics, Electro-Optical Space Systems, and Orbital Mechanics, I have participated in several extracurricular activities. These extracurricular activities include the Student Astronomical Society, Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, Society of Physics Students, and Phi Sigma Sigma. I have held various leadership positions such as President, Vice President, and Secretary. These positions taught me teamwork, communication, organization, and time management skills. I participated in my university’s study abroad program in the summer of 2019 and Michigan State University’s Nuclear Science Summer School in the summer of 2021. I have participated in projects like ICEDROP, Plant Mars, and Black Hole Detection Using CIAO, and I build a Newtonian telescope for my high school research project. I have gained Python, MATLAB, critical thinking, and technical writing skills from participating in various projects and research groups.
