About Ambra Wilson

With approximately 15 years of experience in retail pharmacy as a certified pharmacy technician, an education with a BS in Anthropology, a Masters in Creative Writing where I instructed, consulted and mentored— I have a myriad of skills to be utilized in a multitude of job positions. I am experienced in working within a diverse community both in the pharmacy and classroom. I am most interested in trauma informed, UDL, and metacognitive teaching. Centered towards a pedagogically accommodating teaching style in both realms of my professional life, I strive to aid in the process of learning alongside my students and peers, acting not as an expert, but as a facilitator who will benefit from everyone’s varied perspectives and knowledge. I have worked towards having a pharmacy team that practices gender affirming care and acts as a safe space for everyone in our community. As a team lead, my background in instruction and managerial planning combine to create a skill set focused on transferability and guidance for student and technicians in training. Prior to graduate school, I acted as the pharmacy lead technician where I was in charge of scheduling, training, and inventory management. While in graduate school, I instructed writing courses in both composition and creative writing poetry. I consulted in the writing center, giving feedback to students from freshman in their first year of school to doctoral candidates working on their dissertation. During my 2nd year of graduate school I was selected to be a Graduate Assistant Mentor for the incoming first year graduate assistants. I spent the year mentoring this cohort so they were prepared to move into instructing 200 level courses during their 2nd year. I am passionate about community building both in the classroom and behind the counter at the pharmacy. I excel at care, kindness, and being orientated in the development of an inclusive environment where everyone is invited to collaborate as learners.
