About Amelia Dean

I serve as the manager of the Division of Plastic Surgery, University of Missouri - Columbia. In this position am the point of contact for all hospital affairs happening within our division including coding, reimbursement, patient safety, and provider relations. I oversee a small staff, including a full time medical aesthetician, three physicians, a nurse practitioners.I also serve as the ACGME program coordinator for the University of Missouri - Columbia's Integrated Plastic Surgery residency. We have ten full-time residents.A normal day can range from managing division finances, recording and overseeing IRB research projects for our residency, networking with providers in the community, verifying residency contracts, and managing and updating all scheduling systems for practitioners. In addition, I respond to patient contact, financial, charge entry, and time keeping concerns. Our physicians also practice out of a small cosmetic clinic where I oversee a full-time medical aesthetician, perform business analysis, and order and maintain inventory for our retail product sale
