About Amelia Fish

Recently started a new position at Buro Happold as a Graduate Security Consultant. Achieved a First in my degree in Security and Crime Science BSc from University College London. Over the course of my second year, I participated in an 8-month placement alongside my studies with City of London Police, based in the Partnership and Prevention hub. I shadowed the Force's DOCO (Design Out Crime Officer) where I saw the application of CPTED in the design process and management of buildings in the City. I also conducted a project on reducing violence in the night-time economy, involving using R to create crime maps. I also partook in ride-alongs, worked with mental health professionals for vulnerable offenders, and worked on reducing homelessness in the City. In 2023, I completed a summer internship with the UCL Department of Security and Crime Science. I conducted a project to decolonize the curriculum and increase the inclusivity and diversity of the course. This developed my project management and independent research skills and developed my knowledge of crime and security issues in a variety of cultures worldwide.
