About Amelia Guzman

I graduated from The College of Staten Island with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a minor in Linguistics. I graduated from John Jay College graduate program with an MA in Forensic Mental Health Counseling while completing a post-baccalaureate advanced certificate in Victimology Studies as of January 2025. Currently, I am completing a Graduate Certificate in Medical Neuroscience through Michigan State University. I am the Mental Health Coordinator/Benefits Coordinator at Lakeside Manor Home for Adults under Adult Care Psychology Services, aiding residents with varying degrees of mental health issues including substance abuse disorders and schizophrenia. I completed a Forensic Mental Health Externship on Rikers Island with NYC Health and Hospitals. I am also a neuropsychology assistant, working with a neuropsychologist to properly assess and diagnose children with ADHD, Autism and Dyslexia. As a future clinician, I will continue to push for systemic changes, collaborating with colleagues to create better pathways for recovery and support for incarcerated individuals, my goal population to work with.
