About Amelia Shawe

Strategic youth development and participation leader with national experience across large scale programme design and delivery, organisational strategy, stakeholder engagement and building high performing teams. I lead the design and implementation of high-quality, youth-centred experiences that empower young people to build confidence, develop leadership skills and shape the decisions that affect them.Before joining Girlguiding, I worked as a Student Engagement Consultant, supporting Student Unions nationwide to strengthen student voice, governance, and quality assurance. Over the past 10 years at Girlguiding, I’ve progressed through multiple roles, from content development and programme management to senior strategic leadership, including two secondments to Head of Department within the Senior Leadership Team.I now lead a high performing team to deliver national youth programmes anf expereinces eaching young people, this includes overseeing our award winning youth programme for ages 4-18, our new youth participation strategy and range of youth leadership pathways. I provide strategic oversight of our national youth steering group to ensure young people influence decision-making at all levels of the organisation, embedding youth voice across organisational strategy.
