About Amelia Todhunter

As a designer, I believe my role is to understand people and why they interact with their environments the way they do. Through achieving this, I hope to create spaces that are uniquely tailored to the requirements and desires of those who use them; to tell a story about those who inhabit them. Spaces should reflect ones personality, whilst having a personality of its own. I studied BA Interior Design at Chelsea College of Arts in London and gained invaluable experience across the three years. I developed my technical design skills through self-learning but also with people. I became confident across multiple digital softwares, ranging from 2D in AutoCAD and Photoshop to more complex 3D visualisations in Rhino and Twinmotion. I have learnt how to communicate effectively through mentoring students in other years as well as giving presentations of my own for my course and as a Student Ambassador. In my third year of the course, I found a particular interest in design for neurodiversity after my research highlighted the importance in all sectors, framing my final project around this in a work context. I was particularly intrigued by influences in film and how this creative industry might prove a useful tool for interiors. Moving forwards, I aim to keep this knowledge and curiosity at the core of what I do to produce ethically considered designs. I am currently practising at The Vawdrey House as a Designer, working primarily on residential projects.
