About Amer Najm

There is nothing more rewarding in life than the ability to create something that sustains your very existence. I have been dwelling in nature for as long as I can remember. I grew up working in my family olive oil business, caring for the trees, working the field, and harvesting. This built up the passion in me for the domain of agriculture; which I ended up studying, working and later on teaching. I am an engineer, with over 15 years of experience in agriculture; building my experience through sweat and field work. Here is where as an educator, I combined theory and my practical experience teaching the new agri-generations about Farm Power and Alternative Energy. I currently work as a Mechanization Specialist at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), a global non-profit leader in maize and wheat research and a partner in the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) which aims at enhancing global food security and reducing poverty. In my work, I provide solutions for agriculture systems through the use of technology and sustainable practices, be it production or research.
