About Amin Patel

Born in an affluent and respected family I was brought up in an environment that taught me to hold values, veracity and awareness of responsibility in high regard. These attributes formed the heartland of my ultimate belief that one must live his life in the service of others. I also believe that education and hard work is the first step towards the progress of any nation. The year 2009 brought me an opportunity to contest for the MLA elections from Mumbadevi Assembly Constituency with great support and blessings from my mentor and guide Shri Murli Deora Ji and Milind Deora Ji. The support from my mentors, party colleagues and the people of my constituency who voted for me, earned me a victory with a huge margin. In my entire tenure as an MLA, I have endeared myself to the people and earned recognition for advancement programs. My moderate yet progressive agendas include improvement in the standard of living and the quality of education among the masses. I am a supporter of the evolving nature of Indian Politics representing a new generation and strongly believe in the simple maxim of ‘government of the people, by the people, for the people’. I am a firm believer in uniting people to work for a cause. With this framework for peace I have successfully brought an end to the recurring conflicts and discord in the constituency. I started my political journey in 1985 with Congress (I). In 1988 I was appointed as the General Secretary of Youth Congress – South Central District and till date has held various other important positions in the regional Congress setup like Member of AICC (All India Congress Committee), Chief Whip Congress Party, Member of Improvement Committee & Law Committee in B.M.C, Member of the State Advisory Committee (Security Guard Board)- Govt. of Maharashtra to name a few.
