Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Kentucky with a specialization in Medical Anthropology. I am particularly interested in using academic skills,resources and research to affect and empower communities. I use community engaged research skills and instill in my students the value and responsibility to use their skills to give back to communities. Lastly, I believe the arts are a wonderful way to engage communities and to help people to celebrate their cultures and be proud of who they are, especially those who have been marginalized and silenced.
