Hi! I’m Amisha, an emerging HR professional in Canada with a heart for student support, a head full of ideas, and a passion for learning that never quits. ⏳ My Past? I’ve built my foundation working in HR and administrative roles across education and healthcare environments, gaining hands-on experience in recruitment, event coordination, and student engagement. My strengths today lie in my leadership and teamwork, and I truly believe these come from the meaningful roles I’ve taken on. Serving as President of the Human Resource Management Association, Student Ambassador at CPHR BC & Yukon, Student Representative at United Way, and Accessibility Justice Coordinator at Capilano Students’ Union taught me important traits like effective communication, adaptability, organization, and proactive problem-solving. My Present? Currently working as an Administrative Assistant at CDI College, where I provide front desk support, manage transcript verification, maintain accurate files, and handle enrollment administration. It’s a fast-paced environment where every day brings new opportunities to support students and the HR team. My Future? Adventuring is what I dream of for my career. How has that played out exactly? Well… I’m eager to explore diverse HR roles beyond the education sector. I’m preparing to join the Canadian Army as a part-time Reserve HR member. Amisha Outside of Work? They say you need 5 types of hobbies in life:(1) one that keeps you in shape,(2) one that keeps you creative,(3) one that builds your knowledge,(4) one that will evolve your mindset, and (5) one that can make you money. For me, that's (1) hiking — and I have done grouse grind twice!(2)creating photo books for friends and family,(3) listening to podcasts and interviews, especially with singers and sports celebrities,(4) reading during my train commute and connecting with new people over coffee, I'm always on the lookout for new opportunities and new people to connect with!
