About Amit Gopal

I am a qualified attorney that left the legal field to join our family retail business. From retail operations, training and developing the sales teams and growing our brand through marketing and brand management, I am constantly on the move as every retail day is different. Recent additions to my role include developing and growing our digital footprint, forming relationships with new online channels to grow and develop our brand and looking for new business development opportunities. My role is always evolving to adapt to current retail trends and hence I am always learning every day. My law degree provided me with analytical and decision-making skills which have helped me greatly in my business. I have also completed a diploma in Business Management, am a graduate of the International Leadership Development Program run by Henley Business School and have just completed my MBA at the Gordon Institute of Business Science. My studies have expanded my insights to best retail practices both locally and globally through the various course programs and immersions and they have also sharpened my leadership and management qualities when working with different people under all sorts of high-pressure environments - crucial to run any organisation effectively. In addition to my interest in retail, I'm also passionate about family businesses because I understand the dynamics involved and it was the topic of my research dissertation. There is an immense power play present in all decision-making and having walked the path and grown up surrounded by many of these organizations, I take a keen interest in advising and helping other members who work in their family organizations.
