About Amit K. Mathur

I am a liver, kidney, and pancreas transplant and HPB surgeon at Mayo Clinic, where I am a Professor of Surgery. I serve as the Surgical Director for Liver Transplantation and in several administrative roles related to clinical transplantation, transplant quality and performance improvement, and contracting/payer relations. I am the Director of the National Living Donor Assistance Center. My academic interests include access to care, clinical outcomes, quality, economics of donation and transplantation, organ perfusion, and health care utilization in organ failure, transplantation, living donation, and oncology. My goals are to improve care for patients through effective health care processes, reduce barriers in access to care, develop better treatments and health care delivery strategies, while providing the best quality care to every patient. Extensive experience in clinical transplantation, oncology, and surgical care.
