With over 19 years of experience in software engineering, I lead the strategy, design, and development of the next-generation of Upwork Payments systems, with a deep technical understanding of Payment processing technologies, cloud architecture, regulatory and legal compliance. Upwork is the world's work marketplace, serving everyone from one-person startups to over 30% of the Fortune 100 with a powerful, trust-driven platform that enables companies and talent to work together in new ways that unlock their potential. As the Head of Engineering, I am responsible for modernizing the Payment stack to improve the acceptance rate and reduce payment costs, working with the business team to build new innovative financial products to enhance the lives of our customers, and leading a team of 60+ engineers across multiple regions and time zones. I have a strong background in eCommerce, Checkout, Ads Platform, and Merchant Integration APIs, having worked at PayPal for over a year, where I built and maintained APIs that are used by Merchants and Partners across the globe, driving $260B TPV/quarter. I hold multiple certifications in JAVA, DB2, C++, Unix, PMP, Agile, QA, Procurement, and Supply Chains, and I am passionate about delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions that create value and impact.
