About Amit Meskar

Australian Permanent Resident* The energy scenario is experiencing a huge change due to the global climate change and push towards increased renewable energy use by governments the world over. In such a scenario, I wanted to help create a greener and sustainable energy future for the world. Hence, I enrolled in the Master of Advanced Renewable and Sustainable Energy Engineering course at the highest ranked University for Engineering in Australia – Monash University (graduated in December 2019). I also hold a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pune University (GradIEAust, Graduate Member of Engineers Australia I.D: 8418399). Through my education, I gained the working knowledge of the various renewable energy systems i.e Solar, Wind, Hydro and biomass. I have knowledge of the mechanical and electrical components of these systems as well. Renewable Energy systems are supported by energy storage systems (batteries), and I have gained a working knowledge of the various systems available. Along with this, I have learnt about different sustainability processes and energy efficiency measures in the industry. I am passionate about the renewable energy sector and am always trying to improve my knowledge of this constantly changing field. Having worked as a site engineer and sustainability consultant, I have had to apply myself to learn the craft of stakeholder management. I have worked in 5 different fields - Oil & Gas (EPC), Manufacturing, Knowledge process outsourcing (KPO), backend Finance, and Building Services. This has exposed me to a lot of different experiences and imparted me with immense knowledge and patience. I believe I have been made better by each of my experiences and made me capable of learning many skills. The rise of the Solar and Wind industry in Australia has driven my passion and my hunger to learn more about it. But, I am also aware that the existing energy systems and recently developed systems have an in-built attribute of sustainability, which is as important. So I am on the lookout for roles in the solar, wind (renewable) and sustainability industry.
