About Amitabh Sharma

I am a MSc Data Science student at the University of Edinburgh with hands-on experience in machine learning, anomaly detection, and large-scale data processing. My work spans financial networks, fraud detection, and cybersecurity, with a strong foundation and experience in back-end development and data engineering. I specialize in building AI-driven solutions that optimize decision-making, automate workflows, and extract valuable insights from data. Passionate about leveraging network science and machine learning for real-world applications. Current Work: 1. Brain-EEG to Image Generation: Developing a model that captures EEG brain signals and generates the image a person is thinking about using transformer-based architectures. Dissertation Starting in June 2025: Agent-Based Modeling for Policy Simulation: Working with Public Health Scotland & the Scottish Government to analyze the economic and social effects of tobacco control policies using multi-agent simulations. Key Skills-Machine Learning: Deep Learning, NLP, Reinforcement Learning-Predictive Modelling, Agent Based Modelling, Network Analysis -Large-scale Data Processing: Feature Engineering, Content Filtering, Anomaly Detection-AI for Decision-Making: Risk Assessment, Time-Series Forecasting, Behavioral Analytics-Backend Development & Data Engineering: Python, SQL, Java, REST APIs, Flask, Spring Boot -Data Visualization & Business Intelligence: Matplotlib, Seaborn, Networkx. I am open to collaborations, research opportunities, and roles in AI/ML, fintech, cybersecurity, and computational neuroscience.
