Background

About Amitav Barik

I am a Post Graduate in Social Work and Anthropology. My academic journey provided enormous opportunities me to understand not only key social issues of India but also to understand different dimensions of development process and mankind. I initiated my career by working with CYSD, Odisha in 2008 in the thematic area of Local Self Governance in the western districts of Odisha. Followed by working with Vikash Bharati in Jharkhand to ensure people's access to health and nutrition entitlements. In 2010, I worked with PRAYATN Santha in the areas of Community Organization & Development, Child Rights and Protection, Sustainable Livelihood Development, Inclusive Quality Education and Gender Justice. Here I have learned a lot on Project & Team Management. In 2014 I joined Save the Children and working intensively for ensuring quality programming, stakeholder management, achieving targets and building team for contributing to the larger objectives of the organization. With Save the Children, I know more about Innovations, Strategic Planning, Partner & Donor Management, Project Management and Evidence based Advocacy. Since Dec 2023, in the capacity of Manager, Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS), I am contributing to the strategic thinking and conceptual development of different programs.
