Amitha is a seasoned Digital Marketing professional based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, with over 20 years of experience in e-commerce, social media, and performance marketing.He began his career in 2004, when digital marketing was still in its infancy in Sri Lanka, as an e-commerce executive at the online travel agency Roomsnet.com. Over the course of six years, he rose to the position of e-commerce manager.In 2010, Amitha joined the global advertising giant Ogilvy to establish and head Neo@Ogilvy, a new digital advertising unit. Under his leadership, Neo@Ogilvy pioneered the digital agency space in Sri Lanka. By the time he left in 2020, the unit (later Ogilvy Digital) had grown into the leading digital agency in the country, boasting a team of over 55 specialists and a portfolio of more than 40 local and multinational brands.Since 2021, Amitha has served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Asia Pacific Institute of Digital Marketing (APIDM), a training institute he co-founded. He is the lead trainer at APIDM and a visiting lecturer at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
