As an educator and historian, my primary goal is to foster an environment where students actively engage with the past, cultivating both a deep understanding of historical events and a critical awareness of the world today. History is not just the study of what happened in the past; it is a lens through which students can inquire and interpret the complexities of the human experience, of their cultures, and their identities. My approach involves encouraging this curiosity and emphasizes the development of critical thinking skills, analytical writing skills, and concise communication.In my classroom, I strive to create an open, respectful atmosphere where students feel comfortable sharing their ideas and perspectives. This communal space encourages discussion and reflection by allowing students to connect historical themes with their own experiences alongside current events. I also believe in the importance of clear, productive feedback, using a variety of assessment methods such as essays, exams, presentations, and research projects to assist students in developing their analytical and writing skills.I am currently in the dissertation phase of a terminal degree in History.
