About Amos Johnson

For the past 12-20 years I have served as an Interim Plant Engineer, to reopening a historical volunteer fire department from scratch as second in charge. I spent most of my efforts over the years commanding 12-28 men and women on the fire ground activities in the efforts to mitigate emergencies effectively. This also included one of the more costly fires that happened in Village Square in Glendale. My work also included drafting reports and creating spread sheets to convince and inform different counsels that I have reported to, on what my city or village needed to do to succeed. With these three historically significant communities Forest Park, Glendale and Woodlawn, this has gifted me with extensive knowledge and expertise in the area of public education, historic preservation, public involvement with the schools and community; I’ve spear headed multiple programs for the elderly and our future leaders. In addition to my expertise in leadership in life and death arenas, I bring extensive public-sector experience in the areas of public funding and grant procurement, public participation and public speaking. Also I have instructed on multiple levels that which brings another unique element to table for to offer to neighboring Communities. I have worked primarily with the Public Safety Sector, However very closely alongside departments of Community Development, Public Works, Finance and Administration and others. I believe the goal is not to control change but to lead it; everyone has something to offer to make change more bearable and enjoyable. The balance of this inevitable fact of change in life is paramount in all we do, of being successful. I have worked in both the private and public sector of this industry of being an advocate for our citizens, I believe to be successful we must fall in Love with the process.
