About Amrita K.

I hold a diverse range of experiences within academia, the public and non-profit sectors, and in community arts/organizing with particular emphasis on gender, health, migration, anti-racism & transformative justice. These include contributions to community outreach and engagement, social policy research, workshop facilitation, project implementation, and program evaluation in Canada and internationally. I am creative and detail oriented and have strong written and verbal communication skills. In addition to cultivating my capacity building, organizational strategy, and community-based research skills as a social justice advocate and educator, I am currently working towards my PhD in Human Geography at the University of Toronto. My research examines systemic exclusion against Punjabi Canadian women and advocates for creative community-driven interventions.
