About Amrita Varma

I find my Muse in the arts- art writing performance arts photography sculptures installations to name a few. My strongest calling is creative expressions and I live and work for it and hope to make a positive impact in the world through it. My work is my passion and i grow through it. Therefore you may find my work cv integrated yet very divergent in skill sets and experiences. I started out as a painter and photographer and have worked in various capacities in the field as a researcher [ semiotics and visual] art educator gallery manager lead relationship manager. I was the director of an art advisory dealing internationally in Contemporary Art an art critic consultant on various art related projects [including international projects and working on publication of art books and other publications] and the editor of India's first online art lifestyle and leisure magazine. I have mentored 80 artists and 12 international artists through my Gallery in New Delhi. I have been the Associate Vice President of a foundation that wanted to grow it's programming and monumental public art collection from its nascent city stage to an international level. In my time here we have grown to be a Foundation with one of the largest collections of monumental art installations and sculptures in public spaces across the country.Our work in programming and collaborations both in the country have been taken note of. I curate critique and support arts specifically Contemporary Art and Ecosystems that are needed to sustain it. The key areas of my work include - Advisory to Artists Individual collectors Gallery and institutions private collectors and individuals Institutional Collaborations- globally and locally Creative Strategy Art writing and criticism Evaluation of art work Art and Culture- Relationship Management Educational Research projects Documentation- Artistic Practices Cultural Publications collections- public and private collections- individual and institutional These are in various formats (monumental to miniature) and mediums that include and are not limited to- Sculpture Photography Paintings New Media Painting Design I have worked as an independent art advisor writer curator and critic and am also an educationalist. Currently I am consulting on institutional projects and personal and institutional collections on art globally and am open to more impactful work on all the areas mentioned above.
