About Amro Halima

I am an Informatics Engineer and have a Master degree in Biomedical Engineering. I am a Syrian national and have been working in the humanitarian sector for about 10 years with different local and international NGOs inside and outside of Syria in addition to my experience in the private sector in many IT development solutions companies. In my current role as a GBV cluster as an Information management officer, I am responsible for handling the data collection process in the cluster and coordinating with over 50 of the cluster partners on monthly basis for this purpose and then turn these data into comprehensive dashboards and illustrative maps. I developed a system for the “Referral Pathways” that summarizes all the services provided in the northwest of Syria by all the cluster members fully dynamic and automatically updated and used by over 150 staff of the organizations that are members of the cluster. In my Previous role as M&E Officer at Global Communities, I support our program teams to collect, analyze and report on activities. This includes designing and maintaining databases, conducting post- distribution monitoring using sampling techniques, training staff on information management tools, and creating attractive reports and dashboards for donors and other stakeholders on programmatic achievements. This requires regular use of data collection applications such as KoBo and Fulcrum along with other geographical mapping software like ArcGIS and Business intelligence suits like Power BI, JIRA and Podio. For four years, my experiences in the private sector was mostly in the web development and Android application sector with multiple startups companies and freelance projects. So the data management and mobilizing was one of the main concerns in my job using different technologies like SQL Server and My SQL combined with different development environments like ASP.Net and PHP. Accompanied with Web Design experience using HTML, CSS and JavaScript technologies.
