About Amy Allen

My career journey began when I was a child, working on our family farm. At 14, I couldn’t wait to start working, so I convinced my mom to let me be a waitress at our local eatery. Since then, life has thrown a lot my way. I’ve built a decades-long career in HR, focusing on logistics and healthcare. I got married, had kids, and faced the challenges of becoming a widow before 40. This led me on a deep dive to rediscover who I am and what drives me. I’ve always admired people who work hard and persevere, especially caregivers. After spending years in HR, I decided to shift my focus to recruiting in the industries I’m passionate about: HR, construction and healthcare. Construction holds a special place for me because my late husband spent over 20 years as a Foreman at Miller Pipeline. He taught me that hard work and dedication can lead to financial security. It took me over 20 years to reach his level of earnings, despite having a degree and he didn't. HR and healthcare recruiting came naturally to me after all my years in the HR Manager seat. I’ve navigated tough situations—things they don’t teach you about in school, like dealing with violence, mental illness, and the complexities of a highly charged political landscape. It’s a role that requires immense mental, physical, and emotional strength. My mom was a nurse for 50 years, and I had the privilege of working in a skilled nursing home during COVID, where I saw firsthand just how incredible caregivers are.
