About Amy Baeza

Helping people empower themselves to achieve their goals is my calling. As a high school student, I was uncertain of my future path. I knew I had a deep love for music and a natural affinity for the performing arts. I also found out that I loved being part of club that promoted cultural awareness and enjoyed taking on a leadership role. Still, despite my new discoveries, I didn't know where my journey would lead after high school. That all changed when I began working at a before and after school program. From that moment on, I was hooked on making a positive impact in the lives of youth. Ultimately, after reflecting on my own educational experience, I decided to return to my alma mater and plant my professional roots as a high school teacher. This allowed me not only to give back to my community but also to create a safe environment where students could ask questions, develop their own opinions, and set goals. After transitioning out of the classroom and into a new role as a Youth Career Advisor, I was able to continue my passion for guiding others in pursuing their dreams. I challenged my clients to explore their career interests, taught them time management and problem-solving strategies, and helped them develop resume writing and interviewing skills. Now, as a Career Coach at Arizona State University, I get to tap into my curiosity, guiding learners through the journey of investigating, preparing, and taking action on their academic and professional goals. My objective is to continually enhance my advisement and coaching skills to equip students with tools they need to empower themselves. I am dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel safe to express themselves and seek guidance. With my extensive experience working with diverse student populations and my commitment to professional growth, I aim to provide the best support and resources for students to achieve their academic, personal, and professional dreams.
