About Amy Bains
I am currently the Manager of Safer Schools with the Delta School District. Prior to this role, I provided counselling services at Deltassist as a suicide prevention counsellor for children and youth, and a family counsellor for families in the Delta community. I began my work in this field as a public service employee with the Ministry of Social Development. My counselling experience in the community, along with ten years of service with the BC Government has provided me with a unique perspective on the relationship between governments and the communities they serve. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours in Psychology, with a minor in Criminology, and a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology. I am interested in the areas of clinical counselling, risk assessment, academic and community-based research, policy analysis, and academic writing. Learning is my greatest passion.
